Piccoli Room: 2 – 3 years old

Piccoli is Italian for young children.  This room is designed and developed to meet the needs of the Piccoli age group 22 – 30 months old. Our aim is to further develop their self care skills, concentration, language skills and prepare the children to be independent and ready for the next step. They are encouraged and provided opportunities to choose, to engage and to persist.

Piccoli environment is an adapting continuum from the Nido room to support  the young child’s growing sense of self and independence. An environment truly planned on the basis of Dr. Maria Montessori’s teaching is to provide each child the attention they require.

At Montessori House of Children this is done by giving children choices to avoid power struggles and giving them opportunity to do the tasks suggested and allowing them to accomplish things independently.

There are two sessions available:

Short day 9am – 3pm or full day 8am – 5pm  With an extra fee after care is available on request till 5:30.
