Montessori House of Children is a nurturing, child-centred environment where tamariki are respected as capable, confident learners and supported to grow at their own pace. Guided by the teachings of Maria Montessori, our carefully prepared environments encourage independence, curiosity, and holistic development through meaningful exploration and relationships. Learning is enriched through the principle of ako, honouring each child’s unique identity, culture, and contribution, while our practices are interwoven with Te Whāriki and Te Ao Māori to reflect both our bicultural foundation and multicultural community. By fostering strong relationships, empowering children through whakamana, and nurturing their mana and mauri, we create a calm and respectful space where every child is supported to flourish.
