NIDO ROOM

Our Nido environment provides a calm, secure, and responsive space for infants. Designed to support the earliest stages of physical, emotional, and cognitive development, the Nido allows babies to move freely, explore safely, and form trusting relationships with their caregivers.

A PREPARED ENVIRONMENT FOR THE YOUNGEST

The Nido is designed to meet the developmental needs of infants in their earliest years. Low shelves, natural materials, and safe, open spaces allow children to move freely and engage with their surroundings. This environment supports independence from the very beginning, encouraging children to build confidence through exploration and choice.

RESPECT, CARE & CONNECTION

At the heart of Montessori education is a deep respect for the child. In our Nido, educators build strong, responsive relationships with each infant, creating a sense of trust and security. Care routines such as feeding, sleeping, and changing are approached with calmness and intention, allowing meaningful one-on-one interactions to take place.

Within our Nido environment, we acknowledge and embrace the unique cultural context of Aotearoa. Through respectful relationships, connection to the natural environment, and a sense of belonging, we support each child’s identity and wellbeing. This aligns with both Montessori principles and the values of Te Whāriki, fostering holistic development from the earliest years.
